We had a delectable dinner at Range for the Hawk’s birthday/Father’s day celebration. I’d been hearing lots of good things about this place lately, and they more than lived up to the hype.
Food was delicious and consistent at 8.50. Standouts were the halibut, chicken liver mousse, and bass. The duck confit was also pretty good.

Pacific Halibut à la Nage with Orach, Mustard Flowers and Tarragon

Chicken Liver Mousse with a Tatsoi Salad

Goat Cheese and Sorrel Stuffed Pasta with Lime Butter and Chives

California Bass with Fava Beans, Pancetta, Turnips and Lemon
Pan Roasted Bavette Steak with Creamed Spinach, Porcini Mushrooms and Basil

Duck Confit and Lamb Sausage with Watercress, Cherries, Almonds and Rosemary

Cornmeal Crêpes with Sweetheart Cherries and Crème Fraîche Ice Cream

Seascape Strawberry Shortcake with Meyer Lemon Cream

Bittersweet Chocolate-Nocino Soufflé with Prune-Walnut Ice Cream
Service was friendly and efficient, a solid 8.50.
Décor was simple and eclectic at the same time, but the hallway where we were sitting was a tad bit dark. We gave it a 7.75.
We really enjoyed this restaurant and overall it scored an 84.25. Best of all, the prices were incredibly reasonable, with appetizers ranging between $8 and $13, and mains ranging between $19 and $25. It seems like there are increasingly fewer and fewer good restaurants in San Francisco within this reasonable price range. Quite a good deal!
