Bali Temples

We saw a LOT of temples while we were in Bali, and I have to admit that by the end of our four days, I was super templed out. However, some of them were quite beautiful and fascinating and we even saw celebrations occurring at a few of them while we were there. At all of the temples, we were required to cover our legs with sarongs, but thankfully each temple had free sarongs to borrow, and even more thankfully, Juli was there to tie them around us, since I was a little sarong-tying-challenged. We also were almost always required to tie sashes around our waists.

Roaming around Batuan Temple

After visiting one of the temples, we happened upon a cock fighting event. I was the only female present in the entire arena.

Wild monkey near Uluwatu Temple

The monkeys here were super aggressive, snatching things out of people's hands, from around their necks, and out of their hair. We saw monkeys chowing down on candy bars, bottled water that they had bitten through, and hair bands. We had to bang sticks on the ground to keep the monkeys away. I'm doing my best to be fierce.
